What is BYDUREON?

BYDUREON is a once-weekly, non-insulin injection that may help improve blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. BYDUREON should be used along with diet and exercise and any oral medication you are currently taking. BYDUREON is not recommended as the first medication to treat diabetes.

BYDUREON:

  • is proven to significantly lower A1C*

  • may help you lose some weight

*In a 24-week study, adults with type 2 diabetes using BYDUREON 2 mg with diet and exercise alone or in combination with diabetes pills:

  • lowered their A1C (blood sugar levels) an average of 1.6% (starting at 8.5%)

  • additionally reduced weight by an average of 5 pounds (starting at 214 pounds)

BYDUREON is not a weight loss drug. Individual results may vary.

The most common side effects with BYDUREON may include nausea, diarrhea, headache, vomiting, constipation, itching at the injection site, a small bump (nodule) at the injection site, and indigestion. Nausea is most common when you first start using BYDUREON, but decreases over time in most people as their body gets used to the medicine.
